STEVE CORINO
Coach
Steve Corino’s long and winding road to the WWE Performance Center started more than 20 years ago. Considered to be one of wrestling’s true journeymen, the Canadian-born, Philadelphia-raised Corino scrapped on the independent circuit before finding fame as one of ECW’s final Heavyweight Champions. It was also in ECW that Corino, nicknamed “The King of the Old School,” engaged in a legendary rivalry against his boyhood hero, WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes.
Following ECW, Corino remade himself, abandoning the crazy world of extreme wrestling for the strong-style competition in Japan, where he would wrestle on a remarkable 86 tours. From grappler to ring announcer, commentator to manager, there isn’t a job in sports-entertainment that Corino hasn’t held. Now, as a member of the Performance Center’s coaching team, he uses his diverse experience to teach WWE’s future Superstars.
